DOG OF THE MONTH at The Groom Room

Ruby and Fergus are German Wirehaired Pointer show dogs. Ruby has just qualified to show at Crufts next year, which is a fantastic achievement, as she is still a puppy at just nine months old - well done Ruby and her mum and dad!

This photo is proof that even show dogs can be allowed to run around and swim at the beach. I think a timely visit to The Groom Room will be needed before the next dog show though... queue Rachel and her magic grooming equipment!

Starting Young!

This is young Alex Dixon and her Border Collie Jed. They adore one another, and can regularly be seen disappearing off into the garden together to "do some exploring"! Alex is always chatting to her mum and dad about Jed and his belongings, "This is Jed's lead, Jed's bowl, Jed's brush, Jed's bed" and so on... Its lovely to see such a young owner taking a definite interest in her pet and his welfare; Three cheers for Alex!

Have you just got a Puppy?

As soon as your pup is 12 weeks old and covered by vaccination, this is the time to introduce it to as many different experiences as possible. Everything it gets used to in these early weeks will become second nature in later months and years, avoiding fears that many dogs can have if they are not socialised as puppies.
