DOG OF THE MONTH at The Groom Room

Wow! Is this the same dog?? Well indeed it is after she has experienced 'The Full Works' at The Groom Room ...And what a pretty little girl Taya is underneath all that hair! You can bet she'll be turning the heads of all the boys as she walks down the street now...

Grass Pollen and Itchy Skin

It is the season for grass pollen and some of our pet (and some of us) are allergic to it. Sometimes it is just impossible to keep away from tall, pollinating grasses. So ask Rachel at The Groom Room about Aloe Vera and Bee products, that can help in animals and in people to reduce allergic reactions as well as alleviate the symptoms they cause. We don't have to suffer in silence!

I am being most indulgent now, but I just had to tell you how my own puppy Gin is getting along...

Gin is 13 months old now, and I started to train her when she was 7 weeks old! She didn't know she was being trained, but every time she did something good I rewarded it. So if she sat I said 'Sit, good girl!' and gave her a treat. If she happened to walk towards me I said 'Gin come, good girl!'. She quickly learned to do these good things again and again!

I took Gin to her first Obedience Competition a month ago, and she won the first class she entered - wow! She is continuing to do well and has now moved up to the second level.

However formal or informal your dog training is, it is really rewarding to have a happy and obedient pet. They love to learn tricks, and it creates a special bond between you and your dog.
