DOG OF THE MONTH at The Groom Room
This is Elvis, he's a lovely, young Cocker Spaniel. He came to The Groom Room for his first ever grooming session this month, he had a great time! Rachel gently introduced him, at a pace he was comfortable with, to the bath, drier, clippers and scissors. At the end of his visit he had decided he was quite happy to stay... but hey, you know how it is, we all have to go home some time!

The Hottest Summer Ever?
We have just had the warmest April since records began! We think its great don't we... but what do our pets think of the heat? and what will they feel as the temperature continues to rise towards summer?
Please, please think of your dogs comfort! Visit your groomer regularly during these warm months. There are all sorts of techniques a good groomer can use to keep all the many different breeds cool. Be kind to your 'best four-legged friend' and give The Groom Room a ring today!
The UnderDog...
Well... how are we going to survive without our weekly fix of Julian Clarey?
'The UnderDog' has been a fantastic mix of heart wrenching hilarity, as un-trained rescue dogs and un-trained (!) celebrities competed together to train their newfound four-legged friends. And wasn't Chump The Champ a worthy winner?!
So... if they can do it, so can you!
'The UnderDog' has made us consider two very important things...
- If you are thinking of getting a dog, consider a rescue dog.
- Once you have got your dog, where ever it came from, YOU can form a very special bond with him or her just by taking the time to teach simple tricks, as well as basic obedience. As you saw, the more dogs learn, the more they love and respect their human companions. So, far from obedience training being 'a downer', it allows the dogs to be happier!
You are welcome to ask Rachel at The Groom Room for a bit of advice. As well as a Groomer, Rachel is a very experienced dog trainer. She and her dogs get an immense amount of enjoyment out of training together. So go on, go for it... YOU can do it too!
