September News at The Groom Room

Dog of the Month

Wow! The owner of this beautiful Irish Terrier could have been forgiven for not recognising her "wooly mop" after we had transformed him back to breed standard! His coat was carefully "hand stripped" a process where by individual strands of dead hair are removed, leaving fresh live hair beneath. Its a very skilled job and must only be undertaken by trained professionals, but as you can see the results are stunning ☺

"Is it a bird...? Is it a plane...?"

We are not sure who was more surprised, the giant owl coming face to face with a very large Rotweiller called Colin, or Colin the Rotweiller apparently being rounded up by a very persistent blue, furry owl!!!

Sufficed to say, both were very careful not to get too close to one other!

And it all took place at the Blakemere Family Fun Day on 31st August... yes it was all going on at Blakemere!

So what else went on at the Blakemere Family fun Day?

Good weather made for a lovely day, with lots of things to do for adults, children and dogs alike. The highlight for The Groom Room of course had to be the fun dog show, and as you can see from the pictures there were some happy Groom Room customers scooping some rosettes to proudly pin up at home ☺

Your Dog Does Not Have To Have A Full Groom...

You can book to have an interim tidy up like this Grand Basset Griffon Vendeen (that's a mouthful !) His coat is hand stripped twice a year, but in between times he has a bath and tidy, ear clean and nail trim, to keep him in good condition. Alot of dog owners simply pop in to get their dog's nails trimmed. Another example: many Shih Tzu's need a face trim every month, so again, they can have this service while you wait.

If there is anything you would like, just ask us and we will do our very best to oblige!
